Big Daddy Garlits at the wheel of a electric TF

Postby s10randy » Thu May 08, 2014 9:51 am

Swamp Rat 37 Top Fuel is powered by six GE motors and four lithium-polymer battery packs, that could make up to 2000 HP. He broke the old records 7.95 and 156.00 mph, with a pass of 7.258 and 184.01 mph. At 82 he is wanting to break tth 200 mph mark and be the first person to go faster than 200 mph in the 1/4 mile again. Because he did that same thing back in 1964 in a front engine top fuel dragster. Found this on NHRA website and on this web page https://autos.yahoo.com/photos/don-big- ... slideshow/ and this has video of the run.
