Oil change

Ok guys, stupid question time.beofre our season starts we want to change the oil. I know everybody has a favorite oil, filter and such. If I recall correctly we have Valvoline currently in there, 8qts if I am not mistaken. I would imagine I just need to drain,change the filter and then refil thru the valve covers. I wouldn't need to prime the system before attempting thr first start after change would I? S imagine a warmup after the change to check to make sure I fon't have a filter leak or anything? Should I add more water wetter to the radiator?, Tranny fluid looks good as far as I can tell, how often should that be changed?

You are correct Gary. We have used VR1 racing oil forever without any issues. We also use Wix filters.,

Yep I use the valvolene racing oil,I like the NAPA gold filters,fill thru valve covers,no need to prime.Does the water look clean? If not drain and refill,add new water wetter.Trany fluid is good as long as it looks clean,smells good.

Thanks Mark, yeah the water looks ok to me. I check the transmission fluid each raceday, looks good. Thanks again
